A Letter from Wildly Bookish
Dear Fellow Book Lover,
After thirty years of working alongside children and families — first as a Pre-K teacher, then as a Librarian — I've seen something so simple it's almost easy to miss: the families who read together, laugh together, and learn together are the ones who thrive.
I've watched a child's face light up during storytime, leaning into their caregiver, giggling at the same page, experiencing that story as a shared moment that no screen or toy can replicate. I've seen how those early years — the first five especially — lay a foundation that shapes everything that follows. Children who enter school with a love of learning don't just do better academically. They grow into curious, confident, connected human beings.
And connected children come from connected families.
I believe this deeply: when families are bonded, communities become safer. When communities are safer, cities flourish. When cities flourish, the world gets a little better. It sounds grand, but it starts in the smallest, most tender place — a parent and child, side by side, turning a page together.
Wildly Bookish exists because of everything I witnessed in those thirty years. I am wild for books and stories. I am wild for children who deserve every advantage. And I am wild for families who choose to show up together, even in the small moments.
Especially in the small moments.
Welcome. You belong here.
With love,
Wildly Bookish
